Boost_Boy is a memeber of NICO. Do a lookup on his name (just like I typed it) using the search button (top right)

ill get his email for you if you want, email me at [email protected] for it.. I got my motor from JHOT exports.. its a beautiful motor and full setup with intercooler and intake piping. The ecu and distributor have factory tape on them so the motor hasnt been messed with at all... i highly recommend them if you cant get one through boost_boy.

nab911, is that an eBay motor? I am currently looking at one of their engines right now. So they are a good shop? Did they give you any startup verification?

i've been to JHOT twice to pick up a CA front clip and an RB20 front clip, both engines are now in the cars and running perfect, i highly recomend them, very nice setup they have, they actually have a recyling yard in japan

yeah, i have been talking to ca18detsilvia and his friend carl and they said there motors run really well. Mine isnt in yet but it looks REALLY clean and i paid 1450 for the motorset with transmission, motor, uncut harness, ecu, full intercooler piping and intake and piping. Very nice setup i just hope it runs as good as it looks.

It's rare that you will find a complete motorset with an intercooler and piping. If you have the patience and the extra change, get a good intercooler kit. That SMIC is death to your motor unless you plan on staying stock.

It's a heat sink and a nasty one at that. But a couple of months of using it and staying at stock boost will spare your engine and your most precious Gt25R. Get stupid with high boost (15psi) and there will be motors in stock in a month or so if Jhot don't have any;)

Quote »good lord...you really detest the stock side mount intercooler dont you dee. your hatred for that intercooler seems to burn with the fire of a thousand suns.[/quote] In hopes to deter people to get rid of it because it's a nasty heat sink and will provoke detonation. It robs power and what waste of pipe work, rubber and clamps. And to those who don't get it, good for you. If you're going to have a nice engine, your car should perform like it has one. This thing will definitely hold you back in terms of efficiency, but some people don't have a choice as they $$$ flow and resources are very limited. If that's the case then sell some blood at the blood bank or settle up with the sperm bank and get yourself a nice intercooler.

One of the guys with a 240, SDS engine managment that I tuned, 550cc injectors that I installed, crappy SMIC, and T25 gets smoked by SRs and civics on a regular basis and I'm somewhat embarassed for him. But at least he knows why his car is slow and needs to spend a few more dollars before I roll his ride to the dyno and put him over the magic 300whp. He's a t3/t4, fmic, and decent BOV away from it.

Sucks don't it. And most people think just because their boost gauge say they're doing 10-12psi that they should be hauling booty. As long as you have the sink, you may as well leave the boost stock and don't complain when a hyundai accent do a fly-by on you:D .

Stock nissan core on the bottom, K&J on the top... Man, those things are ugly, and when you consider the size of the CA's sidemount...no wonder they are a heat sink  I thought you guys might enjoy a picture of the inside that I ran across :)

edit: oops, I forgot the picture.

what would you reccomend for a decent budget front mount intercooler? im thinking ill either ebay it up or buy my friend's starion intercooler from him. or for $700 i can get a evo 7 fmic with piping, installed. think thats a little out of my price range at the moment though, id rather stay around 300 bucks if at all possible. i can get that starion unit for about 175, just for an idea.

Stay away from the starion stuff and leave the evo7's cooler for the mitsu's or the hondas. For $700 you can go buy a name brand intercooler kit.
