Ok I know everyone loves dauntless and afterdark tuning and all but Im just trying to make sure what is the best deal. The cheapest non ebay that Ive found is at jspecauto.com (not the one on ebay trying to rip people off) and thats for $1499, has anyone bought anything from them and had a bad experience? Im just trying to find the cheapest most reliable place to buy an sr20det. Also what other parts would I need to buy to put it in? special harnesses or mounts or anything. Oh and because it may be alittle past my realm of knowledge are there any shops in the bay area that specialize in nissans or just that will install an sr20? Any guesses on a price that they would charge to drop it in?

Thanks,Ender

Don't get anything like that off Ebay. USe a known and well respected place like heavy throttle or something.

you're looking at about 4k for a motor, all parts, and install costs. Minimum.

Do not buy from jspecauto, a few months ago, there was mad forum drama about them because of their business practices. If you absolutely want the cheapest possible, try flashoptions. I still am not comfortable with the whole "out of the country" thing, but at least they seem to be coming through with their ends of the deal.

And if you want someone to drop it in, check out http://www.venus-auto.com they sell clips, and IIRC, they do swaps also.

i would not buy from jspec, i bought the eastbear headlights from them, and one of the housings was cracked and they told me that i should have asked if it was busted before i bought it, even though they said "brand new"

jspecauto = thumbsdownjspec.com = thumbsup

Which company did you get it from? Jspec.com has always been good; they don't sell engines. Jspecauto has a bad reputation, for good reason.
