I was wondering where would be the best place to buy a new Injen Inake. I've only heard good things about this brand and my buddy has one on his coupe. Do you guys recommend this brand or something else like AEM or just an adapter and open air filter? I saw that heavythrottle was like $189 and that is the best I've seen so far. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Injen is a good company... AEM also. If you have the cash, go and get the Injen Intake.

ebay, adapter and filter, out 20 bux. Save yourself the $100+ dollars you spend on a shiny pipe.

I agree, make your own... But if you do decide to buy, this is the cheapest price I've ever found on an AEM... Click Here

So, how would I make my own intake? Out of aluminum? steel? something else? I have access at work to all these types of materials and most tools to get it done, but not sure on diameters and how to make bends. What about the attachments which come out of the main tube? Are some aftermarket intake pipes staggered diameters?

what about those really cheap intake pipes on ebay? not just the adapter and filter, but the ones with the whole intake pipe, adapter, and filter? any advice would be awesome.

You can use your stock piping if you like and the adapater will bolt on to your Air Sensor.

thank you to all the people who gave me great advice on the whole issue of the intake. I'm not sure what exactly I will do. I'm still waiting on my first paycheck for my new job.

Custom intake? just take it to a exhaust shop or machine shop. Ive posted this a million times already. Just move your battery to the trunk. Run yourself a custom right side mount intake and save yourself 4 foot of unwanted pipe going across your engine bay and gain a tad more throttle response i noticed from it than my old CAI injen crap that cost WAY TO MUCH

Different metal ( stell, aluminum ... ) has different weight, heat absotion (you want cooler air... ) and etc. But different is small.

The most important is length. AEM claims they did quite a number of reseach on length ( why length : volume + velocity = depend one your intake radius and length )

I'm guessing he's trying to say "warm air intake".

To get your money's worth out of your new intake tube and filter, you should think about giving it a source of cold air and shielding it from engine heat.

You can do wonders with aluminum dryer duct and sheet metal from HomeDepot :)

Even the stock intake is technically a CAI, albeit a very restrictive one.
