I've decided on this sucker. Where is a good place to snag one of these? I found a website (advance speed shop I think is the name?) selling it for around $625 shipped. Anyone heard of any other place that's a bit more reputable and/or has it cheaper? Many thanks, ladies and gents.

I think Advance Speed Shop will be the best place to get it. eBay auction wants $72 to ship... which makes it much more expensive.

Total came to $625 shipped to the North AL area. Although I ordered it Friday morning, I still have heard nothing from them about it being shipped out. Unsure whether or not the date given when choosing ground shipping of 10/09/09 was the estimated delivery date or the ship date for the exhaust. I'm going to wait until around noon pacific and call them if they don't give me some kind of idea. The payment has already cleared my account.

It's not worth a clip... very depressing and mellow. Increased low-end but total loss up top where it would be needed. Im very upset about that.

I can still post one later albeit not a great quality vid.

Virtually no one has the Tanabe which is weird. If they do they don't have the Y-pipe which no exhaust is complete without IMO..

Update - they shipped it last night. I'm not sure what the delay was, but it's shipped and I should have it on around next week sometime.

I will go ahead and let you guys down early on this one - I have no and will have no intentions of doing a Y-Pipe on my car. I'm not getting that in depth with tuning on this car... just a couple things here and there.

I will, however, make a slew of videos and put them in one long YouTube compilation. I currently have the AEM intake, so I'm going to do a standing rev (no load), acceleration outside the car, acceleration inside (windows down and windows up) and a couple aggressive fly-bys. None of these are done with the Tanabe, so I hope my videos prove informative.

I have a really good camera for taking videos with - I've been recording me and a buddy jamming (drums and guitar) and it captures the sound really well with a good frequency range, so it'll catch a lot of the depth of the sound of the exhaust as well as the high end stuff.

Good deal man... I can respect that.

The clips will serve useful. fly-bys are nice at moderate load too.

Thanks in advance.

the only problem with this exhaust is that its only a Axle Back. I've had a Tanabe cat before and loved it. Maybe just have to wait a little longer.......

no additional gains from catback instead of axelback ...its wasted money. ypipe is still as restrictive, catback doesn't remove it.

This would be False..

The stock muffler is restrictive opening up the exhaust will free up some hp.

When I added my resonator I severly lost high end pull where I would otherwise be free flowing.

The stock piping is 2.5" which is about what you will find with an aftermarket, the only difference would be material used for piping which could affect airflow.

Tanabe has expressed themselves that they will not produce a catback exhaust for this car. After their R&D, they found that there is not a substantial enough gain to justify producing one, and that the factory piping was sufficient. So if you truly want a catback, you're better off looking at other brands.

Once the rains quits here in good ol Bammer, I'll start making the videos.

Whaddup guys?

I will have to say I'm very impressed with this exhaust. I have a half day Friday, and I now have a lovely little camera that takes video with pretty much AMAZING sound quality for a little point-n-shoot.

I'll have an extensive review video of the exhaust up by Saturday.

For future reference, the video will be my Tanabe coupled with the AEM intake I also just installed. I'll be honest, in the car past 4500 RPMs, you can't hear the Tanabe over the AEM intake. At all. The VQ growls somethin wicked with an aftermarket intake.

The video will be good because I've put about 2000 miles on the car since the exhaust has been installed. I've been a busy government boy, apparently.

Actually, as I pulled into work this morning, my car had 22,222 miles on it. I bought the thing brand new (141 miles on it) on January 21st of 2009. I'm screwed. LOL

I've been wanting to hear this with the Y-pipe and nobody has one yet?

Why anyone would not want a Y-pipe if they are doing an axle back is beyond me.
