Well for most of you who saw all my other newb threads, you know that I am swapping my engine over to a new shell. You all said I'd never do it, but I am, and I'm ready to pull the engine. Just have a few questions, where's the best place to attach the engine hoist? I plan on pulling the engine alone, not the engine and the transmission together.

Here's a few pics of my engine before the pull. The shell I got had a blown engine so we're taking that out in about an hour. But I'll update with more pics as I go.

Here is my car:

And here is the car I'm putting my engine and transmission in:

has two diff wheels to see what looks best

Why would you take out the engine without the transmission still on? Its alot easier with it. But hey don't listen to me, you don't listen to anyone anyways. And was it really necessary to post useless pictures?

hey i listened when told to buy a shell, and im listening now, hence the reason I'm asking questions, to listen to answers.. so continue your fail flame and rant elsewhere about how better at being a fail you are than others, eh?

I think that its much easier to pull both engine and transmission together also. It just makes it easier to line up the transmission and get to all the engine to transmission bolts with out being under the car with all kinds of dirt and s*** falling in your eyes. Good luck however you decide to go about it.

pulling and installing WITH the transmission, you still have to undo the driveshaft, and probably spill transmission fluid everywhere.

and you have to do a huge swooping motion to get it in there right.

i think that makes it a pain in the a**.

my two cents.
