If you have the cable you can remove the Osiris license and sell it used to someone else at any time. They typically sell for around $400 on G35driver or my350z. The new owner will need to pay for tuning, but the license and cable are completely transferable. Not everyone charges $50 for etunes either. That's Uprev's policy when you order direct from them.
