Senna at Donnington '93 was amazing, but one of the best overtakes ever actually happened TO Ayrton, not from him.ADDirishboy wrote:Me too.Mr1der wrote:

I was totally expecting this video

That's how F1 used to be. Much lower downforce, WAY bigger braking zones to sort the men out from the boys and HEAPS AND HEAPS of power. The trade off was much less safe vehicles, much more injuries and a fatality lurking around the corner.Mr1der wrote:lol...that was ballsy.
looked like he had a wrestling match when he got on the brakes.
Although I seriously doubt the slide was intentional, Nelson Piquet Sr. had massive talent. Even though one of his 3 championships was due to Renault not getting their s*** together and rounding out the year with a decent car for Alain Prost, you cant take it away from Nelson.ADDirishboy wrote:Holy hell! That takes serious skill to drift an F1 car for an overtake.
I'll definitely see it, but I'm very much hoping that it's not going to be a fluff piece. I hope it tells the story of Ayrton Senna, the massively reckless, ruthlessly political and horribly untrustworthy trackmate as much as it tells the story of the man who donated millions upon millions of dollars to charities in his home country anonymously.f1seb wrote:Don't you worry my F1 buddies....we have an Ayrton Senna movie being released this year....oh yeah you're all going!!!
it seems a lot less wild these days...flohtingPoint wrote:That's how F1 used to be. Much lower downforce, WAY bigger braking zones to sort the men out from the boys and HEAPS AND HEAPS of power. Just recently, Schumi caught a ton of flack for wedging Rubens Barrichello, but this move was not even in the vicinity of the stuff Senna used to do on a regular basis.

I don't remember these "regular basis" antics that Senna displayed that were worse than what Schumacher did to Rubens in Hungary. He was most certainly not the fairest driver in the game but also not the most ruthless. Schumacher is in my opinion far worse than Senna ever was, at least Senna had the guts to admit he took out Prost on purpose, unlike what Scummy did to Hill in Adelaide in 94. Prost after all did have Balestre in his corner and Senna didn't.
