What exactly is that kind of racing called? I've seen CORR trucks on those types of tracks...but never passenger cars. Sounds swedish to me.
It's like rallycross on meth.

Senna at Donnington '93 was amazing, but one of the best overtakes ever actually happened TO Ayrton, not from him.

One 3-time world champ Brazilian over another, Piquet on Senna

That's how F1 used to be. Much lower downforce, WAY bigger braking zones to sort the men out from the boys and HEAPS AND HEAPS of power. The trade off was much less safe vehicles, much more injuries and a fatality lurking around the corner.

Holy hell! That takes serious skill to drift an F1 car for an overtake.

Although I seriously doubt the slide was intentional, Nelson Piquet Sr. had massive talent. Even though one of his 3 championships was due to Renault not getting their s*** together and rounding out the year with a decent car for Alain Prost, you cant take it away from Nelson.

A lot of these older F1 drivers learned a lot of car control and such racing in the smaller Formula's.

I'll definitely see it, but I'm very much hoping that it's not going to be a fluff piece. I hope it tells the story of Ayrton Senna, the massively reckless, ruthlessly political and horribly untrustworthy trackmate as much as it tells the story of the man who donated millions upon millions of dollars to charities in his home country anonymously.

Just recently, Schumi caught a ton of flack for wedging Rubens Barrichello, but this move was not even in the vicinity of the stuff Senna used to do on a regular basis.

it seems a lot less wild these days...

I wanna see 1200 horsepower cars again...what was it, about a horsepower to the pound then?

I don't remember these "regular basis" antics that Senna displayed that were worse than what Schumacher did to Rubens in Hungary. He was most certainly not the fairest driver in the game but also not the most ruthless. Schumacher is in my opinion far worse than Senna ever was, at least Senna had the guts to admit he took out Prost on purpose, unlike what Scummy did to Hill in Adelaide in 94. Prost after all did have Balestre in his corner and Senna didn't.

Michael's recent move on Rubens was nothing (hell, Michael was WAY more aggressive in Canada this year). Schumi is only more ruthless than Senna in terms of politics and his regular weaving he'd do due to poor starts. In every other aspect of F1, Senna has it in spades. Go back and watch the footage. I regularly watch older grand prix's and over time, there has never been a more untrustworthy trackmate than Ayrton from what I've seen.
