what is the best overall engine for a 240sx, like I want to keep it an optional daily driver but then I want some nice speed and all so that I can take it to the track (not expecting to win every race) just something on the side for me to do... I know everything is going to be based on everyone's opinion but what isn't based on opinions? Help please?

You are asking for it with this question.. if enough people catch wind of it, there will be war. But if you want my input....

KA, preferably a DOHC one but its not that big of a deal to have SOHC.An SR wont be legal for emissions... at least without some hardcore work, and dont even try with an RB. If you want you can turbo a good KA rather inexpensively (as far as turbo systems go), and if you work it right, still keep it emissions legal.

there is no "best engine" there are good arguments for most of the engines. Go read the engine forums and make up your own mind...

If your in CA all of that is illegal so you should factor that into to your discition as well.

This has been the longest and most pointless debate surrounding 240's on this forum, and no one has ever made a clear case on the SR vs KA being better.

supercharged KA ftw, and IBTL.
