Is it more practical to raise the compression ratio by shaving the head or getting a SOHC KA24E and just slapping the DOHC head on it? That would bump the c/r up beyond 11:1 right? But when doing that Ive heard there can be problems with the timing chain setup. But more importantly does swapping heads mean if the timing slips that the head & valves will get trashed? For all I know the KA's might be an interference engine from the factory. Im building a race only motor and it will never see the road, just the track. I am a little concerned that 11:1 c/r would be untunable and unsafe on the stock ECU which regretably I have to keep using, says the rules of the organization. Thats why Im wondering if its just safer to mill the stock DE head like .005-010" so the c/r doesnt go much beyond 10:1. If anyone can give me some suggestions I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!
