I have a OBD2 wifi scanner but it won't mate with my ipad on this Q. I have read some sites saying this year Q requires a Consult reader for any real results. Anyone have a newer Q, 02 or newer, that can recommend a OBD 2 or Consult reader that works?

I'm not aware of any Consult emulators beyond Consult 1 (OBD1). I use the cheap-o generic OBDII Bluetooth dongle and Torque Lite with the wife's '05 G35, and my '04 Frontier - but I don't have any experience with the newer Q specifically.

It may be more useful than you think... OBDII codes are fairly standardized, and it will allow you to reset old codes, etc. You're right in that there's a huge void between an OBDII code reader and Consult. I'm just not sure that there's anything available in the middle of the two.
