I am looking for an aftermarket head unit for my 2010 Altima Coupe. My current system is the stock Bose head unit without navigation. Through all of my searches on this forum, it appears that I will suffer some sound quality loss if I replace the stock head unit. I can deal with a little degradation, but not if it's a significant change. I have read that you can purchase an adapter to retain the use of all of your steering wheel controls, with the exception of the call Answer/Hang Up button. Through my chats with Crutchfield suport techs, I've learned that I will also lose the use of my factory Back-up camera, as Nissan uses a special adapter.
My Questions:
1. Will sound quality degradation be significant after replacing factory HU?
2. Will I be able to retain the functionality of ALL of my steering wheel controls?
3. Is there a way to retain the use of the factory Backup Camera? Or will a new camera need to be purchased and wired?
4. Which Navigation HU is the best my car? (I'm sure there is no clear-cut answer. Just looking for opinions)
I look forward to hearing from anyone (AppleBonker, especially
