Ok im looking to buy the best exhaust for my s13 hatch. it will have a 95 ka24de in it however. It will have a injen cold air intake and the 248 248 cam swap from my earlier engine and possibly headers with either a test pipe or just a high flow cat. i wanted to put in a Apexi gtr spec exhaust but its a turbo exhaust and i was wondering what kind of effect it would have on the torque numbers without the normal backpressure that was provided by the stock exhaust. Also looking into headers for the 95 engine will s13 headers work with it ??? and also will a 93 injen cold air system work with the newer 95 engine ??? any input on these multiple subjects is greatly appreciated !!!!!

Yes your intake will work as long as both were the KA24DE. As far as exhaust goes the 3 inch loosing backpressure myth is a lie. There are dyno sheets on fresh alloy that prove it having gains all around and no cons what so ever. Mind you on a n/a it will be loud, nothing a silencer and a resonator can't fix or just not driving like a jackass.

I got my exhaust from ebay, nissangtrpower was the seller. It has been great for me so far. I like the sound, I am not sure if they have them for the s14 though.

I'd try the 3" SSAutoChrome Dual-N1 style exhaust with Resonator. They sound pretty good. (Loosely similar to BRM in sound) It is very affordable as well. The resonator will tone down the drone while still offering great performance.

As for backpressure, its a myth... the feeling ofloosing power down low after installing a large diameter exhaust is merely the powerband smoothing out. The power is gained still but te deliery isnt as rough since there are fewer hurdles the gases have to push throgh. Without the surging that comes with a peaky band the power may feel weakened while in reality that it is improved.

Backpressure does not make torque. Ignore anyone who tells you that, because they know d!ck about engines.

3" seems to be ideal from what I've seen.

Id really like to go with the apexi gt spec should i have any other problems other than a higher noise level ? Also i will be using a high flow cat instead of a test pipe unless somebody can point out an advantage of the test pipe to me. Also still trying to find out if i can use s13 headers on a 95 ka24de in my 93 hatch, iv heard the flanges are different but is this true ???

Unless you want/need to pass smog a test pipe is significantly cheaper than a high flow cat!!

Lets see here....testpipe under $40, highflow cat...at least $150 usually more.

just be careful when you go with 3" piping. my friend had 3" piping on his 240 and he kept revving up his car to show me how loud it was with the silencer. next thing you know the silencer popped off and broke his neighbor's car's windshield.

Or just get a system with a real muffler and a resonator so you don't need a silencer.

i just purchased the megan for my 93 se and i got a very good deal, they are having a sale until the tenth of march, you can find it on the marketing posts or just call megan up.

i can't see any exhaust being any different that the other, maybe just the muffler making it sound a little different than the next, the one i purchased is the drift spec, it's 2-1/2 with resonator and silencer. and for mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust it was a GREAT price, considering i have seen exhaust with the same specs going for up to $600!!!, what just for pipe!!! and a muff.

If you want a quiet 3" exhaust, go with either the RS*R ExMag or Blitz Realize TT. I'm running the Blitz Realize TT with an AEM SRI. The Blitz doesn't require the butt plug silencer and yet it is extremely quiet for a 3". It produces a bit of noise in low RPMs, but not too loud. Deep sound. At high rpm or cruising speeds, you'll barely notice any sound at all. Pictures of the exhaust are on my cardomain.

I just got my MeganRacing turbo exhaust 3" all the way for my na ka24e on monday...sounds so good! . The car picks up so much quicker too. But it is loud to. I'll be putting a resonator on it. Worth the $250.

Kind of late for the feedback, sorry... but I have an Apex GT exaust on my hatch and I love it. I have the hotshot headers with resonator and catback with Jim Wolf ecu. Smooth powerline delivery and the engine revs lovely. Good luck with the Megan one.
