I'm looking to replace the rear muffler on my 94 Q45t. Any suggestions of brands and models? I read the threads that say that there is no horsepower gains to be made there, but my trusty rusty muffler needs to go!

I disagree that there arent going to be ANY gains, it may just not be much.. IMO, its a win win situation if you get a better sound and an extra few HP...

Many people here like dynomax..... get the dual in dual out setup..

Stainless steel muffler shouldn't be rusting. OEM is by far the best unless you like vibration and noise.

Cannot add 15 hp even without one, so gains are unnoticeable.

Thanks all. The muffler is OK, but the tips are rusty and look pathetic. Perhaps I should just replace the tips. I am not looking for HP, but it couldn't hurt!

If your looking for a different but clean set of tips, look at summit racing... Borla makes some realy nice looking stainless steel ones... spendy, though.

Just dropping the 85 pounds of the factory muffler is like adding 15 HP to the engine.

Very nice, except it probably only has a single inlet.

It came up under a G50/Q45 search. Should work no?

If you look at the Q, it is a true dual exhaust. The rear resonator has dual inlets and dual outlets. If that muffler doesn't have dual inlets, then you will have to fab something. That is why most epople say to get a dual-in / dual-out then add the chrome or stainless tips.

that must be a 90-93 exhaust because the 94s look slightly different..

whatever it is it sure is ugly! I just put zoomers on my 05 Magnum RT (hemi), and those really flow. It is too noisy for a Q. A Q needs to be a bit dignified when it drops someone.

Wes,

I see in the picture of the Q exhaust system, there are two brackets,on the fronts of the cats. They both have bolt studs. Is there anotherbracket that connects the two sides? I had the drive shaft replacedunder warranty at 55K and wonder if the part got left out???

thx

That part actually connects to the transmission mount. probably so that the exhaust doesnt shake....
