Best model/year?

I was wondering which year would be the best if i were to drop a sr20det s15 into it, for 1/4 mile time

i would think an s13 because its a lighter

I think the 89-90 s13 w/ the sohc engine has an even slightly lighter weight chassis than the 91-94. Pretty sure I read that on super street.

yeah ive heard the coupes are lighter as well. i think it makes sense cuz the hatch+glass weighs alot

Plus the '89-90 models can be bought for really really cheap, especially if not running.

I have the 89 s-13 coupe and it is the lightest. With just a little work you can really get the weight down. With the removal of some basic stuff, not including the a/c or powersteering. Mine is at 2520 1160 rear. Which is a 54/46 split and I could do better. By removing the a/c ans PS i could get to 48/52. Good chassis>>>>>check for rust.
