Folks,

With some excellent feedback and support from you all out there, I bought this car today:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

I test drove four G35's all together, three were 2004's and one 2005. The '05 was nice but carfax revealed it had been in an accident with another vehicle and I just didn't want the risk.

The one I bought above came from CA (probably never seen a snow, at least like here in Pittsburgh/Cleveland/Michigan/Buffalo where I travel). With only ~19K miles, a nice ride, and very minor cosmetic scratches in the usual spots (nothing uncommon for a car of it's age) I felt it was the best choice.

Anyway, now that I am a proud owner of a G35-- based on the model I bought (does not look like the 'sport' model based on what I have read in the forums thus far but still learning) what would be the recommended 'no brainer' mods for this car? Its sweet as is, so if the feedback is 'just drive it!' that is great, but if there are any known 'must have' type enhancements most of you fanatics almost do by default I would love the feedback to get me started.

Thanks!

Very cool to have you aboard and Congratulations!!!

Well...the must haves for minor bolt on modding to start...as most on here will agree I'm sure which will not put a dent in your bank account.

JWT Popcharger/Z tube combo

If you want more...then plenum spacer, Stillen exhaust (don't worry it won't sound like a bumble bee on speed)

Check out our Modification Database thread which has ALL kinds of helpful info.

Any questions...we are here to help! Happy modding!

thanks for the replies! I will definitely check the mod dbase. JWT pop charger sounds good (did the same to my maxima I'm now selling).

I like the clean look of the car, but cosmetically may want to seek out a spoiler-- I'm mainly using this for business use so I probably won't lower it like I did the max (ok, maybe a little! but want to keep it very subtle). On my max I used KYB GR2's I think to give it a little stiffer ride to handle a little nicer. Would be nice to find something similar that would perhaps help it handle a little tighter without getting too carried away.

I'll have to hit that database and try and find out what struts people seem to like for the 2004 G35 sedans along with any places that may make some nice add-on spoilers (don't really want the whole ground effect kit unless again it's fairly subtle. I'm going to be 38 this July so not really seeking to 'pimp my ride' appearance wise just some options that may make it look a little less plain). When I bought my max it was already modded and I actually had to 'un-bling' it-- felt a little funny taking clients out and picking up the boss at the airport in it... haha

thanks all!
