Best locations for EGT Sensor.

Hey GUys, wat saaaap! Just wondering where will be the best location to install my EGT sensor for my Apexi EGT.Turbo elbow??? or down pipe???

And does anybody have problem whenu start the car u have to let it warm up 1st or it will have no power. but when i let it run for about 3-4 min it s all ok.. just wondering... C

before the turbine, either in the collector box or the turbine housing.

no point in putting it after the turbine as you get very distorted readings.

hmmm, i c. i think @ the turbine housing will be kindda ..no good. cos the sesor is about 3" long. but thanks. C

Mine was in my 02 housing.

needs to be in the mani somewhere, hopefully in the collector.

I didnt have a choice on mine well I did, but there was already an adapter in the 02 housing with the front clip heh.

the problem with putting the sensor in after the turbo is that lots of the heat energy goes into turning the turbine, the harder the turbine works the more heat energy is taken out so you can never be too sure of the actcual EGTs.

There is a write up on it somewhere, I shall go looking...

well the problem of putting it before the turbo is those greddy sensors are prone to breaking off. i have seen it happen and its pretty scary what that little pin thingy did to the turbine. so it up to you to put it where you want it.

Thats what i'm affraid of...I think in my opinion the @ the 02 housing will be my best bet. thnaks C
