Best location for firewall Penetration

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. I just got an 08 Altima Coupe (love it) and am doing the typical upgrades. I am adding an amp that will be located in the trunk. It may be on this forum somewhere already but I have spent over an hour digging thru the pages and havent found a post on this yet.

My question is, where is the best place to make a penetration in the firewall to run a power cable thru. Anyone have any suggetions or know if there is one already hidden somewere?

Not many people drill holes in the firewall on a car they love. But check the service manual out and see where the harnesses are routed through he firewall or have a Nissan dealer print you out a diagram of the firewall.

What size power are you going to run? I think others have been able to get 8 or maybe even 4 AWG through one of the factory grommets. I don't remember exactly where people went through. 0 AWG gets a bit trickier, as I don't think there's any good factory opening you can get to. I drilled for my 0 AWG behind the glove box,

I found it. I am just running a #4 to power a ~400W amp. Im not a Bass face by any means. I listen mostly to rock and blues so Im not looking for anything that you could hear coming for half a mile away. I got a Pair of 6.5 and a pair of 6x9 Infinity Kappas that I am gonna be driving with said 4 channel amp. The little 3.5s in the dash (Infinity Reference) are just gonna be driven by the ~20w off the Pioneer Avic D3 head unit.

I am trying to get clean powerful sound thru the full frequency range without distortion. It sounds great now just off the head unit, but if I am rolling down the highway with the windows down and or sunroof open I have to crank it and I can hear it starting to distort as I push the head unit. Maybe I'll post some picks when I am done.There Wont be any impressive subs sticking out all over but should be a good clean powerful install for a blues rocker like me
