Hey i got a 09 2.5

Today im looking online to buy a intake for my car,

Yes i have used the search button! but i come up with a bunch of different options and basically everyone says there intake is the best haha

I was looking at the takeda intake and also the INJEN intake. what are the main differences between all these>?

Or would it just be better just to make a custom one out of piping?? :gotme

Well, this is just my opinion, but before I ordered mine for my 2.5 i looked at several. To me, the K&N actually looked the most convincing. The heatshield on the injen and the takeda didnt look like they would do the best job bringing in fresh air to the intake. The K&N uses the stock air "funnel" to take in fresh air from the grill and funnels it to a metal shroud that isolated the filter from the rest of the engine compartment. The Injen and the Takeda just had a simple shield that may block the itake from the hotest part of the car (engine & transmission) but has nothing to keep it from sucking warm, stagnant air from the engine compartment itself.

Again, this is just my opinion. I am still a bit of a modding noob, but I am pretty technical and have a degree in physical science.

Bottom line though, I got the K&N and am pretty happy with it. Nice little boost on throttle response, ballsier sound, and looks a lot better than that big plastic box that was in there before.

+1

The K&N heatshield looks the most convincing, and it's what I plan to order eventually, but I'm not entirely sure that it will work... if it's a floppy piece of plastic, I don't don't know how effective it'll be. 'Til I get my hands on it, I won't be able to tell you for sure.

K&N for sure.

I have a 3.5, and I'm using the AEM intake on mine (with a very similar heatshield config to the K&N available for the 2.5s). K&N is a quality product and they offer fantastic customer service if you have any issues.
