Best Intake/Air Filter

Ok i have a K&N on my s13 and now all i hear is bad things about them ie. oily oil gets sucked into throttle body and so on. I was then thinking about an HKS, but my buddy said that the fome in those have been known to break apart and get sucked into the engine and i know that can't be good. so i was jsut wondering if these things are just bull **** and if they aren't what is the best intake/air filter to get?

knn is fine, if over oiled yes, oil can gunk up the mafs, but its carb legal, so be happy, i am

i saw this japanese thing where they tested and rated a bunch of different name-brand filters. HKS was crappy, K&N was good, apexi was excellent. the apexi one has some kind of air stabilizer cone thing inside of it...i don't know what you're supposed to call it though. i have K&N...

I just bought on ebay for 29.95. It has the Apexi filter. It works great installed in 15 min.
