Sup all...

I have a set of Stillen highflow cats at the moment (couple of years old), but I think the driver side one is bad (rattle noise inside, screwing up backpressure and throttle response)

Was maybe gonna just take em off "hollow em out" and make em Super High Flow!

But they already had just a little bit of a raspy/rattle noise and I'm sure it'll be worse when I purge them out.

So....best ones currently on the market? To maintain a deep/throaty sound minus the RICE!!!

Thx in advance!

When do you have to have an emissions test?

I'd gut them if you've got at least a year before your next test. You can use 'spark plug anti-foulers" to space out the rear O2 sensors to keep from throwing codes.

Just remember AS IS doesn't protect you in future if you commit emission fraud during the sale. By presenting to buyer a passing emission certificate with tampered sensors you commit the fraud!

Future owners can track you down with help from STATE DMV and use the courts to force you to pay to return emission system to oem even at 100,000 miles.

In some states you can avoid potential liability by trading in thru a dealer who is supposed to be an expert and not sell a tampered car........if they don't catch you in 30 days..............check your local state laws and the states the car might be resold in the future [the rub which state?]

My state doesn't have emissions test anymore.

small possibility of "random" check but not likely. and I've never heard of it happening to anyone.

Would rather go for 50state legel setup....but might just hollow out for now.

Still didn't get answer to what is the best on the current market?

thx

All my Hemi Ram buddies were running Magnaflow high flow cats. Those of us that removed the cats were picking up a couple tenths in the 1/4.

I had removed my cats completely but had a single Magnaflow glass pack muffler with dual in dual out 3" pipes. It sounded pretty good.

Heres a short video of outside the cab

One more at the track and yes the windows are up :-) This run was a 15.2 @ 90 mph. I didn't have programming for the cam yet and was running 31.5"x10.5" tires. Once I dropped the tire size down to 28"x12' and got some tuning I was deep into the 14's my best was a 14.05 @ 98mph.

Awesome info and vid clips! truck sounds sweeet. Nice and throaty, just how I like it. thx!

Update on my rattle noise....quite bazaar. It just stopped! I know for a fact the rattle noise was coming from my drivers side Cat...I had the car jacked up and could actually hold my hand on it (with a rag) and feel it just on the other side of the metal while the car was running..but now it stopped. I'm guessing it (piece of metal or bolt) got lodged somewhere? dunno. I doubt it actually made it through the whole exhaust system so I'm guessing it's still in the cat or the muffler. Oh well...car sounds and runs fine again, so I guess just have to take it apart later in my spare time and see whats up.

thx again for the info!

Thanks guys,

I went through a few exhaust systems until I found one I liked

1> stock2> 2.5" piped dual exhaust dual flowmaster 50 series3> Pace Setter Long tubes with PURPLE HORNIES glass packs bolted directly to the header4> Same as above but some dual 3" pipe exiting the pass side right before the rear tire. Glass packs moved to under passengers rear seat :-)5> Same as above but swap glass packs to a single Magnaflow glass pack dual in dual out built in X pipe.

The magnaflow is deep, I've never heard a Magnaflow exhaust that sucked.
