I just recently ordered a triple gauge pod from Auto-Meter for my 300zx Twin Turbo and I have no idea which gauges to put in it. Please help!

Boost(if you have a way to control boost), EGT(if you have any way to tuen anything), Fuel Pressure (if you have a AFPR)H2O temp (if your anal about overheating like me)Oil Pressure (only if your stock unit doesn't always work ala s30 & s130s)Oil temp (if your really anal, or do alot of road racing and have a sub par oil cooling system)N2O pressure (if you have N2O)Clock ?

A/F gauges are totally worthless unless you have carbs, or are buying a wideband O2 sensor and gauge ($400-ish) and plan on going through sensors fast by using it every day.

Dont you already have a water temp gauge?

I suggest subbing EGT , or oil temp.for water temp, (then again if you have A/F gauge there is less need for EGT and vice versa..)

Stock h2o temp gauge on the Z32's is kinda worthless, doesn't give you a numeric value. Plus if you're serious about getting into building/tuning monitoring your engine's temp is big stuff. For example, I have been able to build a cooling system that keeps my built motor that generates tons of heat cooler than the car ran stock

IMO water temp is a good call but you do have a point.

Thanks again for all great info guys. My 300zx gets hot very quickly so I am still going to go with the H20 temp.

^How are you able to do this, because mine overheats like crazy on hot nights?

Do you have a FMIC or side mounts? Iv'e herd that the FMIC on the Z32 can block the airflow and cause them to run hot.

Actually I do have a FMIC. Does that block air to the radiator? Maybe that's why it runs hot all the time.....

Man, I'm keeping busy answering all your questions today lol

Anyway...Z32's tend to run hot period. A fmic on an essentially stock car only makes it worse as it obviously blocks air flow. The wonderful engineers decided to put every bit of crap they could in front of the radiators on the Z's (intake system, IC piping, AC, AC fan, oil cooler, ducts, wiring, etc) so then you throw a big fmic in front of it....well you get the idea, not much air. But like I said, if you get creative, and feel like spending some coin, you can simplify things and dramatically improve on the cooling.

Feel free to hit me up on AIM, I'm NorthShoreRacing and I can do my best to lay it out for you. Don't really have the time at the moment to type what would need to be a novel up for you, plus it would help with pictures. Talk to you soon.

Care to elaborate? I know tons of people who run Koyo's, including myself in a couple cars and have had zero problems. And not a single one runs anywhere near as hot as stock let alone hotter. I definately gotta hear about this

maybe not on 300zxs but everyone at drift day is switching off of koyos either to griffin or japanese companies. everyone says they run about 15* hotter then stock. Considering what we put our cars through, that temps pretty important.

i dont have any data to back it up though, just word of mouth
