So... I have this friend who owns a mechanics shop. Think mig welder, frame machine dealy, paint shop, etc. etc.

Anyhoo, I went and made buddies with him and asked him how much to straighten out my frame and to pull dents. At first he said $100, which I thought was really awesome, as a deal. Then sunday I asked him how much again and he said nothing. So I'm like... okay... awesome.

Then today I called him, and he informs me that he had just bought 3 and a half gallons of Jet black... just enough to spray his car and my car... so I'm thinking okay... how much do you want? He said, "What do you mean? Just bring your car in next week and we'll start the prep."

So now it's costing me nothing to get about $2,000 worth of body work done. He's pulling my dents, teaching me how to bondo and prep a car for painting, teaching me how to use the paint gun and use the clear coat and such. Oh and he's pulling my frame straight. And when I get my clutch he's going to let me use his shop to install it, for absolutely NOTHING. Oh and free access to a mig welder. Oh and free access to a shop with a rack and tons of air tools and all that good stuff.

Anyway, best friend ever. End of story.

LOL @ Joker....

Sircnay, you need to do something nice for this person. Friends like that are cool to have!

p.s. My mechanic works for next-to-nothing, and has for the past several years. I surprised him last week with a brand new 30 gal compressor for his garage... :)

Free Ribs?!?!?!?! WHAT?!!??!?!

My frienf chris from the DNE is like that. we work in his garage for free. his mom, supposedly, makes really good sandwiches for the guys but IIIIVVVVEEE never had one, hint hint chris if you see this ;). our other pres darrick allows guys to use his garage too. we work for DP and good laughes. excellent group of guys. also, i have family who restore old cars, sooo, i might have a shop to get my car painted at, for a good price. but yeah, friends like that come few and sparse. let him know you really really appreciate it. maybe take him out for ribs or something ;)

Lucky bastard. I wish some1 would do that for me. You should definately do something for him though. Even though he is willing to do this for you w/o you asking him, he deserves something showing your thanks. Who knows. Maybe there will be something better for you in the future.

That's okay, I know where he lives too. It'll just end up being one big funny prank we keep pulling on each other.

I have little story about best friends. I had the opportunity to work on a project and help some friends build a project car that they were going to give to him.

Here is the story. This guy had purchased a 1968 Camaro and just let it sit in his driveway for years. His wife and his friends thought it would be a really nice to complete a restore and build for him, since he never had time to complete the restoration himself, due to his demanding occupation. In September of this year his wife talked him into letting her cousin store the car in his warehouse, since it was seldom being driven, and was taking up space in the driveway. He says o.k. after several months of just letting it sit and collect dust. His buddies start dreaming up this idea that they should rebuild the car and give it back to him on his 50th birthday. The major parts of this project included; the power plant and drive train, suspension and handling, interior upholstery, exterior paint and body, and the audio system. They complete the project and gave it to him over Easter weekend. I know this isn’t a Nissan story and I’m not to big a fan of domestic muscle cars. I do have respect for them I just don’t appreciate them the same way my father does.I jus thought it was such a nice thing for his friends to do for him that I had to share it. I’ll include a few pictures. I just wanted to say that if you have friends that care for you and your family, make sure that their efforts are do not go without recognition. If you have someway to share your skills or abilities do it! So, I don't know if this beats the original story but I wish I had friends like these.
