Hey,

What is the best company out there that allows you to make a free, multiple page website, gives you enough bandwidth so people can actually view it, and plenty of space to post a lot of pictures?!? I could care less what my URL ends up being....

I did have a website on Tripod, but it's a pretty crappy webhosting company (the free webpages anyway), and my bandwidth was always exceeded. Is Bravenet any good? I'm looking to make a fairly in-depth webpage about my car and all of its modifications and need room to post a lot of helpful, useful pictures.

Give me your input, thanks

Marc

I got a Freewebs account about a week ago, I'm still playing with it, 20mb limit on stuff I think though... gonna go by quick with a couple short vids and pics... but whatever, I put pics here, so just the vids is all I really care to have for it. I'll play with it a bit and tell ya how it goes.

20 mb seems a bit low; I have a LOT of pictures I want to include. Also, I should add that I have NO experience whatsoever in making a webpage/javascript/html/any of that computer geek stuff. So the easier the page is to make, the better. I guess basically what I need is just enough space and enough bandwidth so a lot of ppl can view it at once.

Most web page hosting services have a site builder now.

Yeah, the freewebs is the suck, as there's no place to upload videos (I just tried), so don't go for that one, lol... I'm interested in this too...

I think 20mb was per upload, but I'm not sure...

I was thinking of cardomain but EVERYONE does cardomain, and I wanted a more personalized site I guess.

I would love to have my own domain, but the site needs to be free...

I'm surprised no one out there knows of any good sites, I thought a lot of the Nico guys were computer savvy.

Boostsfed has web hosting. He advertises in his sig.Another option is to have multiple 20MB free sites and just link between them.

Check with you ISP, lots of them offer 5 or 10 meg free and then a small charge for anything over that. And for most of you that live at home it just shows up on the bill your parents are already paying :D.

Nothing worthwhile is free or at least not forever.

Email sent Jesda :)

I'm still pretty confused about what exactly a subdomain is...is it going to be a website or am I going to need to make a website via another company and have it hosted by your subdomain?

COX offers 10mb storage for a personal webpage, but it seems rather confusing to make a webpage; you need to download separate FTPs and what not, and again, I haven't the slightest idea of how to make a website except for those easy ones like tripod (which has way too limited bandwidth).

Your website will be at http://blahhblah.q45.org/ (blahblah is whatever subdomain you choose). I'll create your account tonight!

I ended up just using angelfire because I have no idea about FTP servers and what not and frankly do not have the time or patience to enlighten myself.

For anyone who's interested, the website url is:

http://www.angelfire.com/thefo....html

There's tons of pics, but the layout is kinda crappy. My html experience is VERY limited as I'm sure you'll be able to tell.

If you still need help with FTP it is really easy once you understand it.

It is a FOLDER you put all your pics in all you do is log on then drag and drop your pics into the FTP page. As far as Html goes let me know I can hook you up with some tips and tricks. LOVe THE CAR BTW

Thanks, angelfire actually has a really helpful basic HTML page...I just wish i could make the background of the website/the overall layout/the template "cooler."

If you use Frontpage or Mozilla, you can design the site and enter the FTP login info. It will "publish" the site to the server automatically, once you enter the settings.

Does that offer apply to only Q45 owners, or can I get in on that as well?

Shhhh, I won't tell anyone...
