Best exhaust for S13? What about flowmaster?

I've looked into a lot of exhaust and they are hella expensive, and knowing how an exhaust is designed I feel as though I'm just paying for the name. Will a flowmaster muffler and custom 2.5" piping do me justice, or is it just unheard of with a 240?

I went to the local Muffler Man and he offered to bend up whatever I want out of 3in pipe. Since he only has a crush bender it's only as large as a 2.5in internally but it works well and was cheap. My buddy is getting his done there and he offered to bend up all the piping and weld my buddy's muffler on for $75 including materials cost. That was on a Talon TSi.

you can put any muffler on there that fits, thats your call. and yeah getting the locals to weld it up is imo much better than spending tons of greenbacks.

looks like flowmaster uses the chamber theory to silence the exhaust. if your looking for ultimate performance there are better choices. but it will work and it may sound pretty good. never know til you try.

what you could do is buy a tunable muffler, and get a local shop to bend up some 2.5" piping, and weld the muffler on.

I took out my cat and ran 2.5 inch pipe with 2 magnaflow mufflers. its loud but throaty and low and i notice a nice bump in the 70-100 MPH range.

no cat single can muffleer, trucker style heres another from underneath. very loud.

i bought a brm 2.5" cat-back exhaust.

DON'T DO IT. The previous owner of my car put a 40 series muffler behind the stock pipes on my car. It actually sounds nice (no pissed off bees) but the damn thing drones like a mofo when you're on the fwy. Gets kinda annoying.
