call specialtyz or harry at ztuner and until you can get it on a dyno, keep the boost to a reasonable amount.

and that's fine, what i meant was, don't turn up the boost with a "chipped" (off-the-shelf) ecu

Turn it up, but not past 14psi.

SZ or Ztuner offer the best OTS chips, IMHO.

I agree as well. if you want power and reliability, a generic chip isnt your best option.

Keep in mind you get what you pay for.

to compliment the OP and not threadjack...

would it matter if i was running stock injectors, popcharger, ebc, godspeed smics if i put in a different chip? or does it only matter if you're stacking bwhp ?

need more clarity, what is the "different chip" programmed for?
obviously, you would want the different chip to be programmed for your stock fuel injectors, that's the most important setting, imo.
the intercoolers aren't as significant.

well let's just say for arguement sake that a Z is stock, would there be any benefit replacing the oem eprom chip if you were looking to get more horsies?

Yes, up the boost a bit (<13 psi) for more power and the off the shelf tune can compensate with more fuel. ie typical stage 3 TT upgrade.

I also say SZ...but of the ones you mentioned, Ashspec makes good products...also the JWT one isn't bad. That is the one I have right now.

I'm pretty sure injectors are the most important setting. When you buy injectors from a retailer they normally send a chip with them.

i agree, Mark, he was asking if it mattered if he was running stock fuel injectors when he puts in a different chip....just make sure the chip is aligned with his injectors.

i wouldn't run an aspec tune in my car.
i have his intercoolers (bell cores, anyway), and i'm sure he makes great intercooler pipings, but there are better tuners.

I think he means new style. Phase two is the Nissan term for new style. Phase one is gangnam style
