Car: Versa 1.8 Manual

I don’t want to side track my other post too much so thought this would warrant an additional post.

I’m trying to hunt out the best deal I can get on a Manual Versa 1.6 or 1.8 with A/C and ABS. Most dealers also want me to take floor mat, splash guards as well and I could be sold on those two for the right price but.. has anyone out there got a manual with just A/C and ABS. I had one dealer tell me it wasn’t a “viable business option” to offer those cars with those options?

So far in Central Florida the best price I’ve got on a 1.6 is $11,587.00 with the ABS but it's an auto not manual. The best price I’ve got on a 1.8 is $12,947.00 auto with the floor mats and no ABS.

What'a the best price you’ve got out there? I need something other than Nissan’s website for a comparison as some dealers appear borderline hostile when I question their prices. I don't want to hear a dealer give me the ohh poor me I'm losing money on this speech.

I must be getting somewhere.. I've got a local dealer offering to beat the $11,587.00 for a 1.6 manual, A/C and ABS. I'm still really torn on that and the 1.8.. I'm tempted to just pay the extra $2,500 and get the 1.8.

If you search, or look at the "Dealer experience" sticky thread you'll find some answers. There have been a ton of the 'how much did you pay' threads.

Thanks yes I've looked at it, was hoping to get a few more figures from people. I'll search out the others.

For those reading this that haven't yet bought a Versa the single best deal (if they hold their word to the email) out the door minus tag is $12,404 for a 1.6 with ABS and Air! I'm shocked at that price and find it hard to believe. I honestly think it's bait! Why because I've read quite a few reviews online and a number mention this dealer saying just about anything to get you in the showroom then going back on what they said.

Hey Aidan80,

How much is the tax in Florida? It will be difficult to compare the "out the door" prices you get from the people on here as tax varies greatly from state to state.

I got a 2009 Hatchback S 6MT with a/c, ABS, floor and trunk mats, rear spoiler, cruise control, power package and splash guards for about $13,500 plus tax and tag. If all you want is the ABS, then the invoice on that should be $12,871 and then you can minus any rebates they are currently offering, if any.

Good luck!

Sales Tax at the dealer that's offering that deal is 6.5% but they are saying "everything" is included minus the tag? That extra $1,000 off is only good for 72 hours. Final price on that 1.6 is $12,404 including tax, title and dealer fees? I find that hard to believe it seems too good to be true...

The rest of the dealers hit their bottom prices around $13,400 - 14,400 out the door. Unless this one dealer is desperate for cash or desperate to hit a sales figure I can't see how or why he'd take a loss on that car? I can't shake the feeling he's just putting bait on the hook and hoping I'll bite and I'm very tempted!

I may stop by the dealership down the street and test drive both the 1.6 and 1.8 tomorrow if I have time after work and see what his best offer is if he'll budge on the $13,400 or if he'll throw in some mats or something lol. I'm not buying anything yet for at least another month, month and a half I'll need a bit more for a deposit. I wanted to see what was out there to be had and get a rock bottom price.

Plus I've got to liberate my wife's 1998 Saturn SL with 150K on the clock to trade in that should get me an extra few hundred off the price if that

If you don't mind me asking.. what did everyone put down as a deposit on their car? I've seen the prices in the dealer thread but no idea if thats out the door or sticker, inc tax.. I really don't like the pricing system in the US lol it's all a con never pay the price you see!

Thank you that helps a lot as does the dealer thread (I read it over again). I spoke too soon I’ve had another dealer offer a Versa 1.8 for $12,405 out the door while the first is pushing me to come in right away or he’ll take the $12,404 off the table lol!.. It’d be at least another few weeks before I could raise enough for a deposit grrr.. I may have to sit tight and do this again next month or keep them fishing along till then!
