Sales Tax at the dealer that's offering that deal is 6.5% but they are saying "everything" is included minus the tag? That extra $1,000 off is only good for 72 hours. Final price on that 1.6 is $12,404 including tax, title and dealer fees? I find that hard to believe it seems too good to be true...
The rest of the dealers hit their bottom prices around $13,400 - 14,400 out the door. Unless this one dealer is desperate for cash or desperate to hit a sales figure I can't see how or why he'd take a loss on that car? I can't shake the feeling he's just putting bait on the hook and hoping I'll bite and I'm very tempted!
I may stop by the dealership down the street and test drive both the 1.6 and 1.8 tomorrow if I have time after work and see what his best offer is if he'll budge on the $13,400 or if he'll throw in some mats or something lol. I'm not buying anything yet for at least another month, month and a half I'll need a bit more for a deposit. I wanted to see what was out there to be had and get a rock bottom price.
Plus I've got to liberate my wife's 1998 Saturn SL with 150K on the clock to trade in that should get me an extra few hundred off the price if that
If you don't mind me asking.. what did everyone put down as a deposit on their car? I've seen the prices in the dealer thread but no idea if thats out the door or sticker, inc tax.. I really don't like the pricing system in the US lol it's all a con never pay the price you see!
