I was wondering where I can find the best deal for a pair of quality RUCAs. I've been looking into Battle Versions...but I can't find anything below ~$250. Can you guys give me a place to find a good deal on quality RUCAs for the S14? Hopefully something below $250. Thanks.

I've never seen 'em sell for < $250 new. The cheapest legit place to get them that I know of is Enjuku Racing.

SPL has some nice stuff but their S14 upper control arms are more than the Battle Version stuff. Kazama, Cusco, etc. are all more expensive as well.

Megan Racing might make some, but I don't know how the quality is. Probably not up to the standards of the other manufacturers listed above. The Battle Version, SPL and Cusco stuff looks VERY beefy.

You can get them for really cheap through ebay, but I wouldnt cheap out on such a vital suspension piece. SPL stuff absolutely rocks, definately top notch.

Just received SPL RUCA for my S13 today. It's one of the best. Saw Courtesy Nissan and eBay Motoria RUCAs in person and SPL quality is waaayyyy up there. It was $260. S&H was $9 and I had to pay Texas sales tax, so total came out to be $290.45. I also tried to cheap out on RUCA, but... no it's not a good idea. Wait a couple of months, save up and buy good quality ones like Kazama, SPL, Battle Version...etc. You won't regret.

The S14 RUCA is different for a reason. The RUCA's on SPL's site are not SPL... they are CUSCO... becuase Kuah, the owner of SPL has done extensive research and have found the Cusco to be the best on the market RUCAs for the S14. This was before the Tanabe's came out and have yet to see the Tanabes in person.

I have the CUSCO RUCA's on my S14 and purchased them through SPL, and if you see them, you'll very quickly see that they are worth every last penny over all the other brands. The quality is amazing and I can't recommend anything better, however I can tell you that i've known many Ebay/Powertrix/the like parts to crack and on some occasions catastrophically fail.

+1 for SPL and ALL of their parts. I run much of their catalog on my car!

What do you guys think about Battle Versions? They are about $250ish making them about $60-80 (depending on shipping and tax) cheaper than the Cusco ones on SPL.

I'm not very knowledgable with RUCAs. All I know is that cheap stuff would eventually crack. So besides having that rule of thumb, what else would high quality RUCAs do? I'm asking this because if Battle Version have a good reputation in durability, then why not just get Battle Version UNLESS having beefier RUCAs also has other known benefits.

That's not a bad price. Can you do me a favor and link me to where you got it? I'll appreciate it.

I know a lot of people are running Battle Version parts and I've never read a bad review on them. Here's a picture of them from Enjuku's site for comparison with the Tanabe and SPL.

Cusco, Tanabe, or Battle Version...I don't think you can go wrong with any of those.

Yeah...I'll definitely be going with one of the three brands (SPL, Battle Version, Tanabe). I just wanna find the best price. So beefy RUCA doesn't really do anything besides the fact that they are much more durable? Any other advantages?

By the way, I never knew the SPL RUCA for the S14 was Cusco. That's interesting.

94_240sx: please get back to me with a link to the Tanabe RUCAs when you get a chance. Thanks.

It was from old special on NICO. Sorry, I don't think price is valid. But you should try to contact the seller and see what he says...

Battle Version pillow ball joint looks just like SPL ones BTW.

I've seen some broken BV parts, I'd go with the Tanabe over BVs. I must say that i'm very happy with my over-built Cusco's though... I never have to even wonder if they'll hold up to long-term abuse and daily driving... that means a lot to me.

Anyone heard of this? They'll fit 89-98 240sx... It's like $245 USD(=$275 CAD).

Definately good rod ends on those bings. Can't really say much else about them though. I still think that single bar s13 rucas are inherently flawed. The s14 single bar ones are ok because they make less of an arc, but the s13 rucas should be a complete loop like the stock ones.

Okay guys. I made a decision. I went with the Peak Performance RUCAs. I called up Enjuku Racing and they recommended these over the Battle Versions. He said comparing those two side by side, the Peak Performance RUCAs seem to have high quality in the welding and cleaner threading. If you look at the picture, you can tell that the |_| part of it seems a lot thicker than the ones on the Battle Versions. I should be getting them to my door by the end of next week. I'll post another review on the visual quality of it.
