Hi everyone! I'm having difficulty finding the right coilovers/ suspension setup for DD. Right now my car is running Ksport coilovers and its pretty harsh on the ride quality in street and highway. My car is low so I know that Im losing ride quality. Im considering changing coilovers. I've search every forum that can help me find the best coilovers/ suspension setup for a softer ride and best handling. But everyone has different opinions and its hard to pin point out which is the best coilovers to buy.

Now my question is which coilovers should I buy? Or should I build a set of springs and shocks suspension setup?

What you guys think?

I had the EXACT same problem. I have D2 coils, but i wanted something i could lower my car with, but keep a decent ride quality for DD-ing. Unfortunately my car is going away for storage so I never got around to buying them, but I was pretty much sold on Koni yellows with ground control sleeves. Here's the thread I made not that long ago, similar to yours. dd-coilover-set-up-jersey-roads-t580646.html has a few responses from some reputable members here...

koni yellows are a great insert to run for DIY coilovers. If you want to go a bit more for a good race setup, an upgrade to the 8611 strut is a viable option from there.

If you want to stay OTS, you'll get better ride quality with coilovers that aren't cheap entry level pieces. If you want to stay in the entry level category, raise the car. No matter what coilover you go with, you're going to have it rough. Assuming you're fairly well slammed, you're probably bottoming out on something, whether it be the coilover's bump stop or the tire hitting sheet metal.

I'm running BC Racing's entry coilover right now, but at only a 2-2.5" drop and have been very impressed with the ride quality. I'm sure if I was riding the bump stops, I'd be cursing the car for skittering all over the place, though.

Im also had k-sports and made the move to Fortune coils. Very happy them, no problems whatsoever. The only thing is that you must specify what height you need (they have 3 different riding height sizes) and for the price you will pay they dont come with hard washers sets for extra protection of the spring seats rubber ones.....

I check out the koni yellow and they are the best build up coilovers and great for DD. But when I saw one of the forums of a koni yellow build and the person spent over 2k. now i dont have that kind of cash on me.

I look at the fortune auto 500 and they seem to be a pretty good consideration. Amolao how much did you spend on those coilovers? And how long you had them?

I have the Fortune 500's with the swift springs. My car isn't slammed tho just lowered a little from stock but I love the way it rides. My other car has D2 spine busters on it, BIG difference. My buddy has Fortune 500's too but he got the regular springs. His isn't bad either just a little stiffer but it's all about the preload setup too.
