Hey just wondering if any speed between 65-80 would be better as far as fuel is concerned? I know that 65 is around 2K, and 80 is a little over 3K RPMs.

Cruise is always on for the long drives, just wondering if a certain RPM will give better mileage or not.

Does it matter, or all the same?

Thanks

for optimum mileage, stay very close to the speed limit and use cruise control liberally.

Wind resistance is the biggest factor in gas mileage at higher speeds (highway driving). Gas milage drops pretty quickly after about 60-65 mph in most cars. My experience with the J30 is no different.

Agreed. And if you could drive around 40-45 mph constantly, you'd do even better than at 65 mph.

Last time I checked cruising at 83mph was not really bad mileage-wise. But I would tell you the truth - it's pretty much reflects badly on the pocket.... and on the driving record as well.
