I'm looking for a new clutch for my upcoming KA-T. What do you guys suggest. Ive heard good things about ACT Street. But what about Spec? Is stage III a good clutch? Im looking for people who have the clutches and what they think of them

ACT is always a solid buy. I've used them in a variety of cars and they've always lived up to their name. I've heard of guys with the SPEC clutches complaining about them failing prematurely. I'd put my money on something I'd think is a pretty sure thing and go with the ACT.

ive heard really good things about exedy if you can afford it. the majority of d1 cars are running exedy clutchs, which shows if they can handle what those guys are doing they should work for you. im almost sure they have a streetable clutch too.

ACT is the shiznit, pick up whichever one is appropriate to the horsepower level you are shooting for and go from there. :)

Change of topic.... SPEC. Who has it? Is it reliable? What is the best model to go for, something comparable to ACT Street.

I've always liked my spec stage 2. It's held up pretty well for 10k+ miles. It's an extremely streetable clutch. Pedal feel is about as stiff as stock, maybe a little stiffer but not much.

I had a Spec II clutch installed in a S13 about 3 months ago. I also had to replace the transmission as well. My synchronizors fried on me. The motor is stock no mods. I plan on rebuilding the motor next year and going NOS. Untill I can afford a turbo of course. Anyway the clutch doesnt slip and no real chatter or anything like that. Easy to drive and I am glad I got it. I don`t think you can go wrong getting it. I was told when it was installed that you had to wait 500 miles on the clutch. That part sucked so I waited and everything is working great. Hope that helps.:)

Dude what kind of exedy clutches are you guys checking out? The street disc kits can be had for under 300. To compare some of the exedy kits to the ORC or HKS kits you'd have to be looking at some of their crazy double disc setups or something. Get something for street unless you're laying down the law with power.
