for President? not Mitt Romney :chuckle:

For republican Veep nominee, I still think Chris Christie could end up with it. He's been actively seeking the national spotlight, despite saying he doesn't want to be Veep. Plus he said locally he'd consider a Presidential run in 2016. I wouldn't count him out yet.

Theres too many antique chairs in the White House for Christie.

My wish list is:
Allen West
Marco Rubio
Bobby Jindal

Actually, the three VP choices I've selected are pretty solid. Its the main liner I'm worried about. He's starting to p*ssy out on defending himself, just like McCain did. That has me worried.

If West were to actually shove Mitt out of the way and grab up Jindal or Rubio as VP, they'd close the deal with little effort.

My state's not up for grabs, neither is yours. To see some real conservatives, with real cahonnes run for the oval office would be refreshing, and would show that conservatism isnt the "dirty air and water, women torturing, old people killing" movement the left paints it out to be. This country may not be ready for a real conservative revival yet though. We may have to see a completion of Obama depravity before conservatives finally wake up and grow a pair.

Well, it appears Romney caved into the pressure and picked Ryan.

Yup

Excellent choice. Just what the Dems were wishing for.

“The Ryan plan, which passed the House in April and was rejected by the Senate in May, actually would expand the budget deficit in the short run, with tax cuts and the repeal of the health care law. But Mr. Norquist said the budget deficit is not the metric by which he measures the effectiveness of fiscal policy. The size of government is the only real measurement, he said. The deficit merely is the difference between how much money the government takes in and how much it spends.
“The difference between them is not particularly important,” he said.”

“All we have to do is replace Obama. … We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don’t need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. … We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don’t need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate. [...]
Pick a Republican with enough working digits to handle a pen to become president of the United States. This is a change for Republicans: the House and Senate doing the work with the president signing bills. His job is to be captain of the team, to sign the legislation that has already been prepared.”

Ryan is a good politician but I think Romney needed a more moderate choice.

Well, at least Ryan had a budget that could get more than ZERO votes from Congress.

Obama offered $10 in budget cuts for every dollar in tax increases and it was turned down by the republicans for fear of offending Grover Norquist.

" Ryan’s budget plan has become a lightning rod, and it will be a focus of Democratic attacks in the fall. The most controversial component of the plan is that it significantly transforms Medicare, which is regarded as the government’s most popular program.
In addition to Medicare, Ryan was one of the driving forces to partially privatize Social Security after George W. Bush’s victory in the 2004 presidential election.
There are also holes in Ryan’s budget-hawk armor: He voted for some of the biggest drivers of the deficit/debt -- the Bush tax cuts, the Iraq war, and the Medicare prescription-drug benefit, all of which weren’t paid for. Moreover, Ryan voted against the bipartisan Simpson-Bowles recommendations.
Has never held statewide office and has no foreign-policy experience. Both could be liabilities.
As a member of Congress, Ryan currently works in -- and is a relatively high-profile member of -- one of America’s least popular institutions.
And while Romney has criticized Obama for not having private-sector experience, the same is largely true of Ryan: As the New Yorker has written, Ryan briefly worked for his family’s business as a “marketing consultant,” but most of his adult life has been spent as a congressman, congressional aide, or speechwriter/analyst at Jack Kemp’s Empower America think tank."

For once, I wish The Onion was factual. Though if I were Cain, I dont think I'd choose Romney as a VP.
