Looking for the best cheap HID kits and where to get em (6K or 8K) Anyone offer advice? I can't seem to find a seller of X-lights, which I hear a lot of good about. I want to do my Highs and Lows and add fog lights later, after I buy the oem housings.

Speaking of fogs, I heard a rumor that the 07-up Altima is pre-wired for the fogs, has anyone tried the harness to see if it works? I would rather use pre-existing wiring than run all that wire around the vehicle, splicing, tapping into the battery, etc.

Thanks for the help. I heard lots of bad juju on the McCullochs so I think I will stay away, esp for that price. Where are the Xentecs made? I might go with 3 sets from the ebay guy, if he will combine shipping H11 and H9 for Low/Hi and H11 for OEM fogs, right?

80-90% of hid brands are made in china.

H11 for low beam and fog lightH9 for high beam.

What color are you going to get?

I wouldn't do the highs, bad on the bulbs when you flash. Plus with HID lows and fogs how often are you going to need the highs?

Treu about the lows and fogs. Here's my thinking...I figured it best to have all the same for consistency sake, besides, I don't flash much. Another thing is that it is a PIA to change the bulbs in this car (relatively speaking), and they always go at the worst time like in the winter, and I don't feel like changing any of my bulbs ever, so HID all around!

KUHAN- thanks for the info. I was thinking 6K cuz I want true diamond white, with as little blue as possible, but def no yellow. Plus the more light penetration, the better. How would you describe the color of your Xentec 6K's?

I'm thinking of going all out and buying some McCullochs. I tried to buy some on eBay but the eBay guy was a fraud. I found a reputable site selling generation V McCullochs without harness for 229 shipped. Is this a good deal? http://www.xenonpros.com Sale ends 4/29

5000k will give you a pure white - rougly 3200 lumens output6000k Xentec will give you whiteish blue( about 2800 lumens output). very similar to the color of LEDs, check for youtube for videos.

It's your money, but IMHO, that's a lot of coin for lights! Also, these McCulloch kits have the older style magnetic ballast with external ignitors; you want to go with the digital ballasts with internal ignitors. The more I read threads, the more it seems it's hit or miss with most companies. My thoughts are the majority of kits in the sub-$300.00 price range are most likely made by the same company, so I'd go with the best combination of cheap/reputable I can find b/c if they don't work, your only out a little money rather than lots... Just my opinion...I'll order the Xentec 6K soon and report back.

Just to add my .02, also if you go with ebay, get a kit from a US SELLER! it may prove to be easier to deal with in the long run in case anything goes wrong.

I installed 5000K Xentecs in my wife's Altima Sedan months ago, and we love em! Also, I have the factory HID low beams and Xentec 5000K in my fog lamps!

i went with the 5000k Xentec's .....6000k will give you a more blue-ish color....5000k is more of a pure white color......it all depends on what kind of look you want.
