Currently I have a 91 240sx with a ca18det. Im looking to get into autocross. Ive some interesting things about the Mr2 and how it dominates its class in autocross. But I was wondering what class my car would be in and how it would fair. Im a pretty damn good driver, but lets not take that into account. The Mr2 Turbo is in the class with the porches and rx-7's I do believe, but the N/A isn't in that class. Which do you guys think would be better? N/A Mr2 or Ca18det powered 240sx?

the engine swap on the 240 would put you in like a modified or prepared class i do believe.

Stick with the 240sx. MR driving dynamics take a lot of getting used to. Also, I haven't heard anything particularly outstanding about the N/A MR-2. What about rigidity? I know that on the turbo MR-2, the weak point is chassis flex. Perhaps with the comparitively low power on the NA it's not an issue.

Regardless, stick with the 240sx. But I'm biased... and what did you expect? You're posting on a 240sx forum. :)

learn to drive and you car will be fine, you really wanna dominate, go get a shifter cart or a Z06 or Elise.

but if you can't drive, don't be too shocked if you get beaten by a stock base model eclipse:D

evo 8's dominate the stock classes... but in the end, its usually a modified corvette that gets the best time of the day

i dont know about that, normally it is a 4age starlet or a 70's corolla or celica.

stick with the 240. mr-2s are way too small for everything. is this a street driven car too?
