ok.....i did some searches on brake swaps and all, 300Z and skyline came up the most....but not really finding what i m looking for

i really wanna swap to 5 lug for sure....i intend to do the sr20 or rb25 swap in the near future.....i also intend to autoX this as well.....but also gonna be used for daily commuter and dry season only, this s13 will never see snow again......

only thing i would be worried about is what kinda offsets/wheel sizes/caliper clearance i would need with the new set up, probaly 17 is the biggest i ll go but with the turbo maybe 18 in the rear.... i don t really wanna widen the fenders, unless i can find an awsome bodyshop.....

anyone have this kinda driving life for their s13? if so, whats your set up?

i was thinking like SE S14 swap....and just upgrade to slotted rotors and some better pads?

If you want the holy grail of brakes then just go with the 300zx big brake upgrade. Then buy some new sporty rotors and pads for the rear. You wont have a problem with stopping. The stock brakes on an s13 suck.

anybody with a 240 should do the 300zx brake swap. all you need is just the fronts. thats what i did, and im running stock rotors and some pads that the calipers came with. the difference is ridiculous. this setup will give you far more than any stock 240 caliper with any X brand pad and stainless lines all around and then a ton more! go with z brakes hands down.

The q45 brake swap would be a good brake upgrade for autox.

Since it's a sliding caliper design, you won't have the wheel fitment issues with the z-brakes. You'll stop just as fast too because the q45 rotors and z-rotors are about the same diameter, but I'm not sure about the difference in swept pad area. The q rotor is also a bit lighter than the z rotor.

No matter which setup you opt to go with, get good tires to complement your bigger brakes(if you haven't already done so). Big brakes are of no use if all you use them for is to skid around the track.

I have pretty much a bone stock 240 (lowered and z brakes) but I have to run modified because of my brakes.Z fronts, Z rears, 1 1/16 Master Cylinder.I have to run with the turbo cars......

I guess we know what your next mod needs to be..

Seriously, you have a good point. I just assumed that the thread-starter really wanted a brake swap, and that he was concerned with brake clearance. The q45 brake swap seems to fit his requirements.

thanks crzy i should look into that swap with the Q45 but what about offsets and rim sizes? or is nissan all basically 114.3 lug and offset? offsets always confused me a bit.....owning a subaru i was always used to looking for something about +47 thru +53 but nissans seem to be a bit lower like 35 ish? not quite sure......i ll prolly get some 16s for autoX with a nice amount of meat on it....and 17s for daily cruising

i don t really care if i leave STS class to me i am only racing one person *looks in the mirror* "hey you doing ugly, get ready to get your *** kicked again!!!!" time is my opponent

yeah i want somethign that will help me stop better and in five lug, maybe its a mental thing but i think 5 lug is stronger for wheel design and i do love the five spoke wheel or mesh style....something in strength and light weight...maybe the ce28s i love that dark bronze look on white YUMM

anyone done this Q45 swap with some detailed info?
