Best bang for buck in upgrades

Hey guys i have a 90 240sx. EVERYTHING is stock at the moment, and i was wondering what would be the best upgrade for under $300.00 and what i could do for free that somewhat tweak the performance. I was thinking about a cold air intake, or something...

for 300 bucks ill click the search button for you...but umm seriously in my opinion id say 300$ could get you headers or an expensive intake or exhaust or downpipe. either of the 4. thats basically where most people start. but umm if u talk to the right person u cud get all 4 things for 300$...

For 300 bucks, if you got a turbo, a boost controller, lol.But in all seriousness, for 300 bucks, headers, cold air intake, down pipe, test pipe or high flow cat (if you're trying to keep it legal, might want to reconsider that one) but a test pipe will probably give you the most significant increase as it rids you of one of the most restrictive parts of your exhaust.As for prices, like the guy said, you could find someone who could hook you up, ebay is a great place to start, nothing wrong with used parts, just make sure you're getting something good.

i think u cud get a racing clutch for less than 300$. hm but what do i know...

On a stock set up, a racing clutch will do next to nothing for you.

engine wise - You are best to start with I/H/E unless you plan to go turbo sometime.

Suspension - springs and adj struts if you don't mind going a tad over

Drivetrain - LSD!

On the above, they would all be best bang for the buck for each of your car.

you are all forgetting the 2 most important things imo:

tires + brakes

power and ride height dont mean **** if you can't stop, and are sliding all over the place.

W3RD Tires are THE most important performance item. Brakes aren't as important unless you are tracking your car. Usually, for a single hard stop, your tires are your limiting factor.

I didn't mention tires cause ppl usually just upgrade them when they need new ones.
