I heard Redline is excellent, but I'm having trouble finding it at any of the Autozones, Pep Boys, or Kragens in the area :rolleyes

I got a '93 S13 coupe with 180k on the original motor/trans/diff, and I have no idea what the previous owner used as far as gear oil.

suggestions?

BTW, I did a search, wasn't much help.

yeah I heard Redline and Royal Purple are both very good, but I cant find either of them locally so I havnt used them yet. I guess I'll order it online someplace when I finally get around to changing that oil.

Redline is sold at Redline. For royal purple try a mazda or a vw dealership. that is where they sold here!

I bought some Redline oil online, I forget where though...just did a search in yahoo and a bunch of places had it. Its definitely worth the money (about 8 bucks qt). My syncros are going bad in my first 3 gears (especially 3rd) but changing the fluid w/ redline helped alot, occassionally I'll grind 3rd, but not like it used to
