Best Aftermarket HID Xenon kit

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I tried to change the bulb but i couldnt find a way to get to the housing. Was it hard to do that mod?? Is that a plug and play kit or do u have to put a relay harness? One more thing can u post a pic of the lights thanks!!!!!

I`m also looking for a nice quality HID after market for the EX35.The stock bulb on a projector headlight assembly is really bad!

Make sure when you look for HID Kit, check the warranty. The longer the

better. Make sure it`s a plug and play design, in case if something elec.

problem occurs not even related to the HID, you can remove it for warranty

purpose. I believe the brightest HID is around 4300 K (3200 lumens)

This is also whiter. I`m sure 4300K is what I`m gonna get. Anything higher

than 4300k reduces the light output (lumen). I used to live in Chicago, winter

sucks and I would rather stay in 4300k HID since the bluer0purple the Kelvin

goes, the more the light blends in the snow covered road, feels like you don`t

have contrast at all.

There are new ballast technology coming out nowadays. The igniter is

integrated in the ballast.

Just throwing this out there guys. Xenonplanet.com/shop is having november specials on Xenon HID lights. So for those of you with the EX35 using H11 bulbs this is a great mod. Our products are good but our prices are retarded. But then again we are a wholesaler so we can really charge whatever we want as long as it is not less then we get them for. Basically xenonplanet.com/shop is it's own retailer and wholesaler. Quite a few performance shops buy our kits to place their stickers on them and pack them in pretty boxes. We decided the hell with the boxes and stickers and just sell to our customers as what is needed, xenon hid bulbs, and ballasts. If you have any questions you could all email me at [email protected]

Some questions here.

This looks like a great product.

1. What color temperature do you recommend? 4300K, 6000K or 8000K?isnt the 6000K Diamond Blue the brightest per the model, link below? http://www.xtralights.com/inde...ory=2Funny thing because a 3000K is brighter than all, but it sure does not look like it.

2. What about the fog lights? Is this the H8 unit? The headlights are H11? correct?

3. Where did you mount the Ballast units?

Has anyone used this product or installed the lights (Headlights and Fog)? What do you think?

All you help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just had mine done, 8000k Fogs and 6000k Low beamscant remember what brand they were but i can check if u like the fogs are H8 indeed and low beams are H11i had troubles with the fogs because the kit did not have to right connectors so i had to splice it and shrink wrap the wires. i have 4 ballast, for the fogs i had to mount them just behind the wheel well i was careful not to put them too close to the sensors or the electric magnetic from the ballast would interfere with them. there is a perfect spot if u open the wheel well. for the low beams i just stick it on the side sumwhere under the hood. made sure there was enough clearance for the hood. i used 3m adhesive to stick it on.

hope this helps

by the way this is not an updated picture i just replaced parking lights to xexon white LED to match the rest. and thinking about where to mount 2 white led strips

Lybrian1,

Very nice. Thanks for the write up. I might do this soon. What about this link?Do you think that these lights are good? They are very expensive. Almost $1,000 for fog and head lights.

dont cheap out on these Xenon lights. the cheap ones dont last long and especially becareful about some kits that are from china which then get rebranded then sold on the net. id say spend an extra couple of hundred bucks or so and get the better brand.

Lybrian1,

Question, when you installed these lights, did you have add anything to the battery for power? I mean, did the kit come with wires, that you had to add the positive and negative terminals of the battery? Thanks.

I only want the best. The link that I posted are the most expensive lights anywhere. They are digital and brand new, it states. They are $409.00 for the head lights and $379.00 for the fog lights. I think that is high. 100% made in Japan, it states.

Do I need the option to over ride the on-board low beam indicator? Does the infiniti even come with such an indicator?

you are talking about a rely harness and i did not install a rely on my car. i just used the stock connectors that use to plug into my old halogen bulbs then the kit is just plug and play for the most part.

rely harness are for older cars that might get stressed so the rely harness is suppose to take off some of the stress.

okay if u are willing to pay that much money then go for it i understand what you want (only the best) and these do seem like it.

you do not need to override the system if u just play and play liek i did. no direct to battery connection no rely harness just replace the old connectors.

Do you believe that the 3M tape will hold for years to come, especially in the wheel well.

actually i used zip ties aswell as the 3m adhesive. made them super tight and sturdy. you can use foam glue but they will never come off. i didnt do that because i was worried about down the lines maybe i need to replace the ballast. with 3m you just need to put some rubbing alcohol on it then it comes off.

there were barracks taht came with the kits but i cudnt find a screw or a nut to mount it to.

All I want is plug and play. Thanks for giving me some good info. Some of these websites really suck and not telling the whole story on what you need and dont need.

Instead of mounting them in the wheel well, can't I mount one on the left side of the car and one on the right, so they are easy to get to and are not close to each other?

if u replace fogs and low beams like mine then you have 4 ballasts. i mounts 2 under the hood and 2 int he wheel well because the wires werent long enough to go any where esle. believe me if i could have all 4 of them under the hood i would but liek i said the wires in these kits are really short

Lybrian1,

Why did you now want your fog lights and head lights to be the same color temp and lumen? How does it look in person? Which one is brighter?

Ah, ok your mechanic. Hell my mechanic is not like that. He has to order the oil that I want, so I will not even ask him about the HID's. Hell, he might not know what an HID is?

LOL thats a funny thing, befor i got them i was picturing them in my head and it looked alot better in my head if fogs and low beams where different colors. but once i got them installed i realized they look funny like fogs dont look stock any more. i put 8000k in fogs and they look more blueish. which looks cool. but i would have gotten them both in 8000k.

as for brightness. the fogs are way brighter and this is because the lowbeams are projectors and they diperse the light more so they dont look as bright but the fogs ahve nothign infront of them so u see the Xenon bulbs.
