Thanks to the help of Lost to a K car, I'm pretty sure my horrible shaking problems under braking are from the brakes and not worn suspension or engine mounts. Anyway, i was going to go with KVR cross-drilled rotors from PDM racing ($140 for the two front ones) and use their KVR carbon kevlar pads ($33 for front set), because Lost to a K car says they work well for him, and because I know PDM sells quality stuff. My question, are there any other pads/rotors out there for around the same price that are better/more reputable? I heard Hawk HPS pads are really good...anyone try these? How do they work? Would the HPS pads work just as well on the gold cadmium plated KVR rotors as the KVR carbon-kevlar pads? I searched the old posts and someone had brembo rotors from raceconepts.net, and I called them, and they have a pair of brembo rotors, front ones, for only $110...that seems pretty cheap for brembos...but, they aren't fully cross drilled/slotted, only half-way. Which brings me to my next question--which would be better for me, cross-drilled fully, cross slotted fully, or cross drilled/slotted only half way? I have stock calipers, and want good brakes that perform well under hard braking conditions or "enthusiast" street driving, and I will probably be autocrossing in the future. I DONT want them to fade or warp or have to be heated up to really high temperatures to work well either... Anyone know about the wear of the HPS pads or the KVR pads or rotors? I'll post a link of the KVR rotors and the Brembo rotors... Let me know what you think, if I do brakes now, I want to do it right and for them to perform really well...Marchttp://www.pdm-racing.com/prod....htmlthose are the KVR rotors--btw, anyone know why they don't sell them for ABS 4 lug 95 240sx?http://www.pdm-racing.com/products/brakespads.htmlthose are the KVR padshere's the link for the brembo'shttp://www.raceconcepts.net/ro...issanit says $160 on their site, but they quoted me $110 for the pair..

Wow, I guess all the 240sx enthusiasts are only interested in making it go fast, and not stopping it after its going fast! ;)

it doesnt really matter.

Id say just get slotted rotors, and some hawk or ebc pads....

i dont like the drilled for strenth reasons ( i dont know if my opinion is unfounded or not...)

the hard core race cars like nascar just used vented discs, no crossdrill and no slots just veery high qUaLITY CASTING ON PART OF THE ROTOR

most go with carbon kevlar pads, and have good results...

endless pads are great, but are pricey, but they do make 3 different compositions....

I've heard a lot of good things about the porterfield street pads, also sold by pdm (scroll down on the page)...you want the street pads though...NOT the racing.

I'd beg to differ here. most of the high end cars like ferrari's, porshe turbos, etc use cross drilled AND slotted(sometimes) discs. GT cars(gt2, gt1, gtp) use cross drilled rotors, also.

cross drilling, when done correctly does not hurt the strength of the rotor...big thing here being that it has to be done correctly, with the inner "vanes" of the vents(in a vented rotor) in mind before it gets drilled...I ahve powerstop cross drilled rotors, goodridge SS lines, motul brake fluid, and axxis metal master brake pads, and its a great combo, and doesnt cost too much.

Axxis MetalMasters are great pads for street, autocross, and mild track use.
