The fuel pressure regulator gets a nice looking aluminum spacer that is tapped to feed the 7th injector

Valve cover breather equalization tubing is rerouted to clear the compressor belt

And the new snazzy intake plenum base is installed

The bad boy sits waiting, ready for work

Sorry for the mystery: The project car is a customers 2008 FX35AWD with the VQ35DE engine. The project involves a Stillen Stage 2 supercharger kit and Stillen stainless steel cat back system.

The supercharger is a roots type running 6 lbs boost. Stillen dyno test results show a 110 hp increase at rear wheels. (The 2008 FX35 was factory rated at 275 hp) The install is 50-state CARB legal.

This project has been a lot of fun- fit and finish has been perfect.

A nice picture of the massive heat exchanger directly beneath the rotary vanes that will cool the pressurized intake charge

fitting the beast, it's a tight but perfect fit

A picture of the 7th injector that will feed the beast when it's angry

On with the install....

The heat exchanger system is intricate, with an auxiliary coolant reservoir complete with a pressurized cap, electric pump on the left front clip and a substantial heat exchanger mounted in front of radiator. We will be spend quite a bit of time making sure plumbing looks as close to factory as possilbe and use OE fasteners wherever possible.

Next step is the install of the cold air intake system with K&N filter

The supercharged engine will run 1 rangeg colder NGK PLFR6A/11 plugs (sorry for the poor focus :dunno:)

Heat exchanger coolant pump mounts on right front pumper clip

And the heat exchanger (intercooler) coolant resevoir finds a home nestled next to the powersteering pump

Wiring is coming next...

Having driven the completed project, it's hard to understand how you could feel this way. It is so much faster than original.

The piggy back control unit for engine managment and the additional fuel injector are installed under the glove box. (sorry, no picture of this). Next we move to the exhaust:

The ugle and stock exhaust has to go

To be replaced with a true dual exhaust with crossover x-pipe

The all important SMOG certificate

And we're sad to say, the project is finished. It was a lot of fun and we would love to keep going with more mods. But we'll stop for now...

Tell your customer not to bring it back until it's lowered....

Looks wicked though.

Yep.

One can of flat black radiator paint will fix that.
