no orange peel is in the painter's skill not the color choice. good build thread so far, except i recommend against gilbert's. theres a reason my brother and i dont go there anymore

i will be spraying the car myself.the problem with white isnt orange peel. its the color being hard to match.if i need a new fender. it is hard to mix the same exact color white over and over again.and since i will only have the pros help the first time he said to stay away from white so that it is easier to spray multiple times.i think thats a more complete explanation of what im trying to say.

and what happened at gilberts?everything went smooth for me.

they bored my brother's block .30 over and returned it without oil plugs in which they assured were replaced. then when everything was back together and there was no oil pressure the guy was really rude when my brother questioned him about it and said my brother probably just didnt know what he was doing. then when it was found out the plugs weren't in the guy was still an a** about it. and they did some work that i didnt authorize and then demanded payment. same employee and same bad attitude. we must not be the only one with problems because there are several complaints filed against them through the better business bureau

no prob, just thought others could learn from my experience with them. when they resurfaced my flywheel they did fine. it was a little pricey though, but all it takes is one bad experience and seeing how they handle it to make you change your mind.

White will look uneven unless you white primer first. As of now white is gonna take more work and paint than any other color.Yes plum would look kinda weird on a stock body lol.

I vote for white. It looks good on stock 240s, and even better with aero. Just my 2 cents.

hey bersh, big fan of your build thread.just curious, how do you like your CA? Have you owned a KA-T or SR? Or driven them for comparison?

Is it really as big of a nightmare finding aftermarket parts that fit as people say? and has the engine been reliable for you, or has it taken a lot of extra labor to maintain? Being a 20 year old motor I'm cautious about buying one but I would still prefer it over an SR or KA-T due to its uniqueness and originality.

Also, what website are you using for parts? I was suggested http://www.takakaira.co.jp/ but I would like to keep my options open and it would help to hear from someone who has personal experience with certain aftermarket companies.

Sorry for the barrage of questions, thanks again and good luck on your build!

lol i didn't mean for that thread to come off as fanboyish, i'm just jealous that you guys have such an organized & helpful 240 team - kind of a hard thing to find when you're a whiteboy outcast in hawaii where 90% of the people here are asian with language barriers.

also sorry if that looked like spam to you, I've just been trying to see how much maintenance a CA requires in contrast to a ka-t or sr

Glad everything works still! Taking out alarm systems that look like THAT look like a b****. So fkn glad I've never had to.

Way to rep the blue interior bud We need to think of ways to make negro interior people jealous.

uhh... my seats are blue. they are stock. all original.

and uhh.. lets just say some guy in an srt4 was riding my a** when i was coming home from work at 1am...i got angry.. took left turn at about 80 kh/hr and FRONT tires lost traction.doug thinks my front right strut is blown. cause it only happens on left turns.massive body roll and no traction with front tires= almost death.it feels so weird.
