First off I have an 89 S13. I was in a wreck as some of you know and I'm trying to fix my front end. My problem is the metal core support doesnt want to bend back into shape. I was wondering if it would hurt it to take a hand torch to it to heat up the metal so it will bend back into shape. Thanks guys.

when you mean bent core support i assume you mean the area where the fender lies, i had the same situation when my car was wrecked and needed to bring it to the body shop to replace it. What they did was cut of the bent part and replace it with the one they found in the junkyard. This also goes for the radiator support, maybe if you post some picture of the damage we can figure out how bad the bent core support is

I'll try to get some pictures later as I can't seem to find my camera. I'll try to explain it better to give you some idea till I can get pictures. It's the passenger side of the core support, where the rubber stopper for you hood is. The top of the core support still sits flat it just pushed the small section with the rubber stopper back about a quarter of an inch and down about half of an inch.

You could replace the core support if it refuses to bend back into shape...

It seems like you've already tried to repair it. If repairing it w/o heat is not working, then you should replace it, either used or new. The only thing you should try to heat to fix should be plastic parts, in my opinion. When you heat up the metal to repair it, it will weaken the metal and no longer be as safe. By core support, do you mean radiator support or the Apron assembly. If its the radiator support, you could probably cut and weld a new one in yourself. But if its the Apron, you probably should get a shop to do that for safety reasons.....

I've almost got it back into shape. It's taking alot of time but it's getting there. I'm not using heat im just bending it back into place. I should have it back into good shape tomorrow. Thanks for the input guys.
