ok, i got my SR running last week since almost a year, but its still having the same problem as it did before. the car idles fine, but sometimes it sounds like its skipping. when i'm driving, it jumps and bucks until around 3000rpm's, then its fine. today i was checking some things out and saw the gasket around the plastic cover on the CAS was hanging out and leaking oil. so i took it off to see if i could get the gasket back on and discovered this:

sorry for the crappy pic, but the round metal piece is bent only in that area. i'm trying to find another CAS at the moment to test it out, but do you guys think that would be why its running so bad?

yea seriously, it makes you think. i bought it from a pretty reputable company (JHOT), but i'm wondering if they actually knew of this.

I wouldn't be surprised if that bent CAS disc was the cause of the engine blowing up.

You can fix it and use it temporarily by flattening out the disc CAREFULLY with a pair of pliers, but I wouldn't use it in the long term. A slight deformity on the disc could mean the difference between an extra degree of timing or your motor blowing up

i'm gonna wait until i get another CAS. i just got my car running for the first time in 10 months, i'm not risking anything. way too risky if you ask me....
