What the owner has done is put on a mercedes-benz hood and trunk (off either a 400 or 500). Stripped the car of any GM motors branding/badging and put on MB badging from scrap Mercedes Benz models. The last time I was behind him he had the MB 4matic badge on the trunk (this made me howl hysterically). But what takes the cake is his homemade two tone paint job. The roof is painted gold (the spray paint type) while the rest of the body retains its white shade. I think the gold roof is supposed to match the gold mercedes benz rims (again spray painted). On top of that he's got a hideoous red tint and huge gold accents around the wheel wells. You have to see it to believe it. The sad thing is that the owner when the car is stopped at light thinks people are looking at his car because its so great. Little does he know that most people look at it and think how sad.
This guy has crossed the boundary into outright Folk Art. Does he stay out of the fast lane? You gotta get a picture for us!
The thing I love about this Road-Benz guy is that you could tell him his car is utterly ridiculous and he'd think you were crazy!
Perspective: This individual can get a car, make parts fit, conceive a colour scheme, licence it, insure it (gotta to have insurance to get tags in Canada), have it pass inspections, maintain a valid driver's licence, maintain it, gas it up and not get busted or beat up. I went to traffic court once and Mercedes-Master has a lot on the ball compared to many in our society.
