Bench to bucket seat conversion

Bench seats are lame!

Mine is uncomfortable, so I went yard hoping and got a bucket seat set for $50 from a KC since I couldn't find any buckets for a reg. cab.

Front mounting bolt hole line up, but the rear are about 3" away. Will need to fab something or drill new holes.

Also noticed the inner seat frame rail is 1" higher, so when installed, both seats lean towards the transmission hump. a piece of 1" stock sq. tubing is just the right height. Will need to fab something too.

hmm i didn't know the brackets were different on the KC from the reg..i know the KC has all the holes for both seat types they just have little rubber plugs in the unused ones..i put a pair of buckets outta a 97 Toyota 4runner i had to drill holes for all the mounting points but after a few big fat bolts and washers you couldn't tell the weren't made for the truck!!

Yeah. Some fabricating is necessary when installing buckets in a standard cab. I used sport seats taken out of a KC and had to fab brackets for the outside bolts.

My 84 single cab ST came with buckets

Yeah they did but it had to be an ST to have buckets.
