when i start my '95 in the morning to let it warm up, it will start squeeking sometimes. its usually when the RPM's go down after the motor has started to warm up a bit. it gets worse when i put the car in reverse (auto). when i switch to drive, it gets better, almost stops. when the car warms up and has been driven a little while, the squeeking stops completely pretty much. if i let the car just sit in park when its squeeking, and i release the hood, it stops. when i close the hood all the way back down, it starts. i don't know what this has to do with it, but its related somehow it seems. i think its a belt, but am not qute sure of where the tensioners for the belts are at. i know where one of them is at. the belt that drives the fan and water pump, which is the closest one to me if i'm standing in front of the car. i tightened it a little, and no difference. i have 2 other belts. i have no idea where the tensioners for those two are at. i wanna see if i can tighten them a little as well, to see if this will take care of the problem.

Press you finger on each belt, they should be fairly taunt. If not, follow the path of that belt around each pulley. One of the pulleys it passes must move, usually by a screw that either moves the pulley further away or closer to the engine. Also check to make sure nothing is rubbing on the belts. That was a problem for my 944, and I went thru 3 lower radiator hoses before i realised that the 1/4" between it and the power steering pump wasnt enough!

i've kinda tried to do that already, and those belts are so close togeter, it makes it hard to find anything. there is so little space for me to see anything, and there is stuff in the way and everything. i'll go do my best tho. thanks for the reply!
