belt squealing

the belt that runs the alternator and the water pump squeals...i have a new water pump and alternator. i cleaned the pulley, the belt is new, the pulley is tightened to factory specs. any ideas? its driving me insane...thanks, tim

So its not chuckng the pump at you this time? well that good to know maybe loosen the pulleys slightly

You can always pull the old, couple drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid on the belt. It should go away for a little bit and hopefully by the time that wears off everything will have worn in a bit and will stop squeaking.

so the belts squealing could just be because they are new? ill its still a little loose, so ill try tightening them a little. oh, and it hasnt chucked the pump at me YET, i think it might tomorrow...i dont want to drive it tomorrow...waaah!
