ok guys, im 'attempting' to change my drive belts on my 93. There are three belts. One closest to the block that goes around the crank pulley, another pulley in hte 'middle', and then another pulley (all three are attatched to each other) all the way toward teh front bumper.

Belt number 1 (closest to the block) goes around the crank pulley, idler pulley, and a/c compressor.

Belt number 2 (middle) goes around the crank pulley, and alternator pulley (i can get this belt on)

Belt number 3 (closest to the front bumper) goes around the crank pulley, water pump, and power steering/oil pump pulley (i can get this one on as well)

The only belt i CANNOT get on is blet numer 1. The bolt in the middle of hte idler pulley will NOT come loose for me slide the pulley up on the track to get the belt around it. Ive tried jacking hte car up on hte pulley, it wont f'n budge. Ive tried PB blaster, vice grips, sockets (bolt is rounded now) and nothing works. Can the car run without belt number 1 on??? if so, im just going to take it to a local shop and have them put it on. Thanks guys, or if anyone has any suggestions as to how to get hte bolt off ,lemme know. I wanted to use an impact wrench, bu tit wont fit, the sway bar is in the way.

the car will run w/o the AC belt, you just wont have ac. Did you try adjusting the tensioner at the bottom of the bracket?
