MY 07 Sentra is making a "whirrrring" noise when I turn it off. It's sounds like the alternator but I just can't be sure. I was wondering if any one has had there alternator go out yet or if there is something more common that seems to go out on the belt drive?

...when you turn it off? That's weird for sure.

I guess use the ol screwdriver trick. Put the tip on suspect areas and the other end on your ear. You'll know you have the right one when its louder through the screwdriver.

Me and my co worker figured it out. No bearings going out just the alt winding down.
