I was just at the auto parts store, and was looking around I picked up a bottle of belt dressing. It stated on the back that using this on belts will increase grab and help with premature aging and cracking. This sounds great, if its true. Has any one every had any experience with this rubber belt spray?

Dont bother. Its only good for beaters with slipping belts. That and a bar of soap.

The stuff is a mess. The belt lube works fine but that stuff as Jesda stated is for beaters.

I currently use this stuff for belt conditioning! I wouldn't recommend the stuff that stops belt squeal because some times it causes belts to jump off their pulleys. The conditioner is fine If your belts have been exposed to oil, anti-freeze and the environment.

My belts don't squeal, and theirs no cracks. I have taken my '94 Q45 all the way to 7000 rpm and it sounded great. The only reason why I thought of using the belt conditioner for the belts is because of their claims of longer belt life and better grab. It probably would not make a very big difference in prolonging the belts life any ways. Their will all ways be unnecessary car products for peace of mind, when in reality the products do nothing at all.

Yeah ! Four bucks will have a person filing chapter 11! There's alot of products good and bad. If you don't experiment from time to time threw trial and error you will never learn! Wax, soap, oil, Etc. have been used for years to pro-long belt life. DO NOT criticize what you haven't tried for your self. People ***** and complain about what they wish someone would make or design and people are always going to develop products. There are chemist and Labs hard at work! They don't just pour water in a bottle and say here's your belt conditioner! I have been using belt conditioning products since early 90's and it has saved on belt replacement. I do recommend it a can will last you for years. Jeff you know for your self about developing an product with your strut bar. People wanted it you developed and you got positive and negative feed back! You went back to re-develop and improve based on feed back from your customers.
