I know theres a wealth of information here about the types of gearboxes you can use on the CA. But is there anyone trying a different bellhousing without need of an adaptor plate? (except swedish Mike)

I don't know how much you know about cars, but how many different types of bellhousings you think nissan made to fit this block. There's only one platform in RWD besides that transmission from the 200sx with CA18ET that bolts to this block. No RB, VG, KA, SR, FJ, VQ anything fits the CA18DET without using the bellhousing from the CA RWD series. Hope this answers your concerns on this topic.

Yes it does, thanks. No need to be like that though. Unfortunately bad information spreads. So far Ive heard from random people that the ka24e housing and sr housing will work, Ive only ever seen the CA housing being used; in figuring that i didnt get a definate answer through searching this forum i thought i'd ask if anyone ele was confused as I was.. Thanks again.

yea, the CA KA and SR RWD trans are the same, only diff is bellhousings and the CA trans has a differnt ratio 5th gear
